Fabian Hub lives and works in Berlin. He studied visual art at the UdK Berlin in the class of Thomas Zipp where he graduated 2019. His work is mostly focused on painting, aswell as installation.

Do you dream in color?

And if you can remember, how do the dream images appear in your mind's eye?

The idea of a picture in general, or more specifically, the pictorial representation of a thing,

often seems perfectly clear until you try to grasp it and then it vanishes when you try to hold on to it.

Dreams go up in smoke...

Fabian Hub's paintings dream of color and of very concrete things, of places and situations. What initially appears abstract and colorless slowly unfolds as you look at it - following the traces of the lines and gestures, the eye encounters the edges of forms when looking at it, the brain supplements and slowly finds its way around, the memory completes and for a moment everything is there and everything is clear.
