Space and time, knowledge and language construct reality. Human and non-human beings, living and non-living environments shape and influence it. Bodies and media, tools and objects relate us to reality, take on a mediating role between us and the environment. 
Physical real spaces also do this. Offices, shopping malls, industrial plants, street crossings and swimming pools shape what we understand as everydayness, as the construct of an individual reality. Their socially determined functions, working in the office, shopping in the mall, swimming in the pool, form markers that give us a coherent picture of our reality. 

But what happens when these markings dissolve, functions disintegrate into functionlessness, structures disintegrate into a mere lack of structure? One thing remains: discomfort.
‘Uninvolved Junctions‘ traces this unease. 14 artists present works that settle down in empty rooms, spaces and interstices of an old mobile phone shop and an ice cream parlour. They sought a place for their existence, unnoticed for who knows how long, becoming part of the space, taking it over and rededicating it. How long have they been here? - That remains an open question. And who would be even able to answer that? For the memory of a place full of people and bustle, of a space of lively everyday life, has long been no more than a faded glimmer - a dull reverberation in the corridors.
